Nave Repairs

During 2006/7 we set about getting the nave—that is the main body of the building watertight and dry.  The photos above show the staining on the walls. Sometimes the water would be running down into the electricity controls on other occasions bits of plaster were dropping down. Once the roof repairs and the water removal systems were dealt with, the building started to dry out.  The cavity of the walls is filled with rubble—as was the custom—and so the drying out process has taken over a year
