Weddings and Baptisms

A christening is an important family event and in most cases baptism occurs as a baby (although we do baptise adults quite regularly too!)

Usually we baptise on Sunday afternoons, twice a month and places are booked well in advance. Anyone within the parish boundary has the right to baptism. If you live outside our area we need the agreement of your own vicar. (Unless you are on our church roll). Adults are baptised at different times.

 

We have various opportunities for parents and godparents to help their children grow in faith:

The times of  Sunday Schools are as follows:

St. John Baptist 11a.m.

St. Martin’s Chapel, Broadway 9.30a.m.

St. Peter’s Chapel, Fulwood 9.30a.m.

 

On some Sundays, the Sunday School joins the congregation for the whole of the morning service. There is also a mid-week monthly Pram Service at St. Martin’s Chapel.

 

As your child gets older  our two church schools St Peter’s,  Fulwood and Broughton Primary offer first rate education in a Christian ethos

Baptisms

A wedding at St John Baptist is an unforgettable day, not only for the bride and groom, but for family and friends too.

Situated in a semi-rural location, the Parish Church offers a beautiful location. It  is easily accessible  by road and there is car-parking available.  For more details click the picture.

All arrangements are made at the clergy a on Wednesday between 8 - 9 pm at Broughton Church. No appointment is necessary.
